NON-REPS FALTER ON DAMP, BOWLER'S WICKET

The Non-Reps began their second innings with a lead of 139 runs, but they were greeted this morning by a damp and dour pitch. The ball popped; the ball seamed; the ball had a mind of it's own in the morning session.
It did take an absolute peach of a delivery from Wishy to dismiss Lime, though. In the 3rd over the ball, a ball swinging into Lime cut away off the seam and missed into the middle of the middle of off stump. Natalie looked to attack, and looked technically complete with two boundaries; a pull shot and a majestic cover drive.
The Non-Reps Captain was soon walking back to the pavilion, though, spooning one of the leading edge to Marshy at a straightish midwicket. Ayla joined Rodeo at the crease, a daunting partnership for the Reps, both batsman in the form of their lives.
They started slowly on tricky pitch, knocking off singles where they could, but blocking and leaving most balls. Wishy, Knighto and Rainbow had them tied up - all they needed was some luck.
The luck ran with the batsmen however, Ayla and Rodeo successfully enduring that tough period and countering on some tiring bowlers. The Reps resorted to spin, and Guppy bowled two tight overs before Ayla released all the pressure, dancing down the wicket on several occasions and taking 16 - 4 fours - off Guppy's third over of her the spell.
On the first ball of the next over though, - the 26th over - the Reps had their breakthrough when Rodeo played a pretty poor shot, flaying his bat outside off, that resulted in the ball coming through a massive gap between bat and pad and hitting off stump. In truth, the ball did cut about a foot off the dodgy surface, but Rodeo was sent on his way for 32.
Klutzy, coming off a century in the first innings of this game, came to the crease at 5, but played a much more careful innings today. At the other end, Ayla pounded anything lose, and was very upset when bowled by Guppy for a very well-compiled 64. Ayla played for Guppy's turn, as you do, but the ball failed to spin, hitting a bump on the pitch more than likely, and going straight on, hitting middle stump.

Klutzy the same fate a few overs later, this one spinning more than he anticipated from Guppy, after Guppy and Dorsy had bowled 23 balls for just 1 run. 5/131. The Non-Reps sent in Buster as a nightwatchman, and he and Wall successfully defended the last two overs of the day.
The Non-Reps finished Day 3 on 5/136 off 40 overs, with Wall on 1 and Buster on 4. The pick of the bowlers: Guppy is 2/31 off 7 overs and Wishy is 1/18 off 6 overs. Unfortunately, there is no scorecard available at the moment so you'll just have to take my word!
