ALLETROLL'S RECORD WET-SEASON

The whishies of Alletroll are rejoicing! One of the main contributors to their problems, financially and physically, is over - for now, anyway. For the past couple of years, Alletroll has seen a devastating drought that has brought about the death of thousands of livestock and crops in the dry, part-desert region. Families in Alletroll are few and far between, with more and more giving up on the land they grew up in, retreating to the prosperity of the inner cities.

The whishies who stayed have been rewarded in the last month, however, with a record wet-season descending on the state. The month of December saw a mammoth 342mm of rain fall upon the drought-stricken state! Flash flooding has been common, blocking several important roads, but the people of Alletroll don't mind. In the large scheme of things, this rainfall has kept them financially alive! Their water tanks are full to the brink and overflowing, their crops are irrigated and the town water supply is almost at its peak!

It is not rare to see whole families - children, parents and grandparents alike! - taking the rare opportunity to play in the rain; wet weather football the most popular activity. Speaking of footy, Alletroll's End Park, an international stadium, hosting regular cricket and Rugby League matches, was starting to get a little dry. The field's grass, much like that in the middle of Alletroll, is now green and lush, beautiful to play on.

"It's just amazing. Truly amazing," Farmer George Terrain told Strikaland News, tears welling up in the old fella's eyes. "This has saved us. We've had bad crop after bad crop; amost out of business. The economy's falling, people are leaving. The last month has been Heaven on Earth for us. Praise God! Oh, we needed that."

"Best Christmas EVEEERRR!" Tractor, George's grandson, exclaimed, sliding on a slip-and-slide, down a hill into a dam, which had been dried up for years, but now has a water level of 4 metres at its deepest.

Alletroll just had its best Christmas ever.
