The non-represented team of whishies resumed play on Day 2 at 6/279, with Muddy and Lee at the crease. Muddy scored single on the first ball of the day, but the pair were forced to toil early on against some tight pace bowling. The release came in the 64th over, where Muddy took 11 off Wishy's over. Lee backed him up with a four next over, which brought up the team's 300.
Together, Muddy and Lee endured maidens when they needed to, and scored off any balls they felt they could. They were forced to run most of their runs, boundaries few and far between - eleven overs, at one stage. The reps finally got their breakthrough in the 78th over, after 53 runs were taken off of the morning's 18 overs. Lee finally missed a full and straight one from Rainbow and fell LBW for 32 from 73 balls.
On the last ball of the same over, Kayn did the same, playing slightly across another straight one. He was cleaned up for 4. Muddy fired up, making the most of any scoring opportunities and trying to keep the strike to ensure maximum runs. He took a single first ball of Rainbow's over (the 82nd), leaving Buster with 5 balls to face. Buster fell LBW to Rainbow, full and straight again, hitting middle stump, halfway up. Lin, true to form, chipped the next ball straight to Ziggy at short leg. He got it out of the middle, though, and Ziggy's catch was one for the classics. He only got one hand to it, but the ball stuck! The non-reps were bowled out for 352 in 81.5 overs. Muddy finished 78 not out.
The reps would need to play out a tricky 10 over spell in the evening. Ready to strike with the ball, Muddy steamed in to Ziggy and Finnie. Ziggy tapped a leggish ball into the gap, to get off the mark straight away. Finnie then countered, taking 6 runs from the next 5 balls. Lin bowled line and length, as always, conceding only two runs from his first over.
Muddy, bowling 145+ clicks, dropped one in short to Finnie, who failed to get her gloves out of the way. The ball rebounded from the gloves into her body, and Carrot took a simple catch at short leg. 1 down for 9 runs, with Muddy at his fearsome best. Ziggy and Marshy blocked away, set at finishing the day not out. Lin dropped one short in the sixth over, and Marshy couldn't resist, pulling the ball viciously for a four. Muddy finished his spell with figures of 1/11 off 4 overs, before captain Natalie brought Buster into the attack, trying to find a late breakthrough.
Buster bowled well, but couldn't get the wicket. At the other end, Kayn was wacked for 10 off his only over, and Ziggy and Marshy finished the day on 1/37 after 10 overs, with Ziggy on 9 off 34 balls, and Marshy 21 off 18.
