Chasing 132 for victory in their Exhibition T20 match against Dorsy's XI, Tony and Lime, an accomplished opening pair and life-long couple, started steadily, scoring 5 runs from Lin's first over. Muddy opened the bowling at the other end, but was taken for 10. After 4 overs, Lime and Tony looked good at 0/29.
Knighto pegged them back in his 1st over, though, conceding only 2 runs. In the 6th over, Coral got one through the gate and hit the timber, sending Tony back for 20. This didn't slow Natalie's XI down, though, Natalie and Lime, the two highest runscorers in Strikaland Cricket history, scoring 30 runs in the next 3 overs. After 10 overs, the scoreboard read 1/75 - Natalie's XI well over halfway there.
Sensing the need for a wicket, Dorsy brought on Muddy, her strike bowler. Lime hit him for two boundaries straight up, though. Muddy got his breakthrough on the 5th ball of the over, Lime bobbing a shortish ball on leg straight to Berry at short leg.
In the next over, Coral's fourth straight, Natalie and Galaxy II only managed four runs, before the latter slashed at a wide one and was out, caught by 'keeper Finnie, for just 5. All of a sudden, Dorsy's XI's chanceshad regenerated, Natalie's XI 3/90 off 12 overs.
Natalie and Klutzy took 20 from the next 2 overs, but Carrot's stay was a brief one, out LBW trying to sweep Buster square of the wicket. Still, Natalie and her 'troops' (as she calls them) required only 22 runs to win, from 36 deliveries, with 6 wickets in hand.
Lin only gave up 4 runs, with 5 singles, but Klutzy took Buster on and scored 8 off his. Lin used every bit of his experience and proved difficult to get away to say the least. Natalie only managed 2 runs from his final over. Natalie and Klutzy needed 8 runs from 18 balls. Buster bowled a tight over - only 5 from it - but it wouldn't do if Dorsy's XI had any chance of winning.
Muddy bowled two dot balls in the 19th over of the game, before Klutzy swung across the line - a sign of frustration - and fell LBW, plumb, for 17. Natalie's XI still required 3 runs for victory. Tulip came to the crease and confidently hammered a good length ball outside off through the covers for the match-winning four. Although the result had been delayed, Natalie's XI had inevitably won, by 5 wickets with 8 balls remaining.
