PURPLE LAVA RISING IN MT. PURA

Volcanologist Igny Geyser and I have spent the last couple of days and nights observing Mt. Pura and its activity. From our research, Igny has concluded that an eruption within the next couple of months is next to imminent.

Igny and I hiked to the top of the angry volano yesterday evening, to take a few readings and observe the centre of the volcano firsthand. Last time we made the journey (last Friday), the lava was bubbling, but still fairly low in the volcano. We certainly weren't expecting to see what we saw when we gazed into the mouth of the volcano!

As we had predicted, the lava had risen. It seemed about 10 metres higher than it was Friday, but I can't be sure of that fact. What blew me away was the completely unnatural, taken-from-a-fairytale, purplish colour of the lava! I have never seen anything like that in my life! Igny tells me that last time the volcano erupted, back in July of 2013, the lava had turned an abnormally deep red colour - the same colour as the goo that had been spewed out of the geysers. That makes sense, since the geysers around Mt. Pura have been spewing pounds of purple goo along with the normal volcanic gases.

Another sign that a big, exciting eruption is coming. When we get more info, I'll let you all know.
